WhatsApp is testing a new feature to limit the spread of spam and misinformation on the platform. The messaging app will now enforce a forwarding limit on all media, videos, photos which are shared on the platform. In India, WhatsApp will test a lower limit of five chats at once, and then remove the quick forward button next to the media file, be it audio, pictures or videos. The global limit on WhatsApp forwards will be 20 chats. Currently the limit is 250 chats. WhatsApp will also removed the quick forward button from media messages in India.

This new restriction means that if a media message is forwarded five times from the same account, then WhatsApp will disable the option for forwarding it further. However, the feature does not appear to be live for all India users yet. We found that we could forward the same media file to more than five contacts at once.

WhatsApp in a blog post revealed that India is the market where people forward more messages, photos and videos than any other country in the world. India is the app’s biggest market with over 250 million users. It is also the market where WhatsApp is facing increasing scrutiny over mob violence and lynching reports after misleading videos went viral on the platform.

The Facebook-owned messaging app in a letter to the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeITY) had written that it was horrified by the reports of violence in the country and announced new steps to curb the spread of misinformation.

Booth Level Officer; A Representative of Election Commission at the Grass-Root Level

For enhanced participation of electors in the electoral process and reducing the electoral malpractices, it is essential to improve the quality of electoral registration process and of the electoral rolls. Booth Level Officer (BLO) is a local Government/Semi-Government official, familiar with the local electors and generally a voter in the same polling area who assists in updating the roll using his local knowledge. In fact, BLO is a representative of Election Commission of India (ECI) at the grass-root level who plays a pivotal role in the process of roll revision and collecting actual field information with regard to the roll corresponding to the polling area assigned to him.

Under Section 13B (2) of Representation of People Act, 1950, BLOs are appointed from amongst the officers of the Govt. /Semi Govt. /Local Bodies. Generally, one BLO is responsible for one part of the electoral roll. From August, 2006 the Commission has decided to introduce the concept of appointing BLOs who would be accountable for ensuring the fidelity of electoral roll.+

The ECI introduced this new system of appointing BLOs creating a clear line of accountability for preparation of an error-free electoral roll, making the BLOs its custodian at the polling booth level. Previously, voter-identification slips used to be distributed by the contesting candidates of various political parties and that gave scope for complaints. The preparation of accurate electoral rolls and direct distribution of voter identification slip by the BLOs also boosted voter confidence in the credibility of the election process.

BLO assists eligible citizens to become voters and obtain voter card. BLO provides those different forms for addition, deletion and correction of Electoral Roll entries, carries out physical verification, and gives his/her report to Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) .The BLO interacts with local people/ political parties’ representatives and identifies dead/shifted/duplicate voters to be removed from the electoral roll after due process of law. New Delhi: The Income Tax Department has started an 'Instant' basis based PAN sharing system for the first time persons wishing to get permanent number of Permanent Account Number. The PAN number can be obtained without any hassle by the support number. You do not have to pay any fees for this facility. This facility will be available at the earliest basis. The income tax department has kept the facility of E.P. for a limited time only.
OTP will create new e-page
A senior official said that the number of people receiving Permanent Account Number for their financial and tax cases has increased. In order to increase the number of applicants, the facility of e-paper has been started. He told them that the PAN number of the person will be distributed only if the OTP is placed on the registered number in the base. The new page created by this process will have the name of the existing goods, birth tithi, gender, mobile number and address on the basis of person.
Companies can not generate HUF E-PAN
E-PAN's feature is only for regimental individuals. HUF firms, trusts and companies will not be able to generate e-pages. Once the PAN has been distributed in a few seconds by an electronic power based verification system, the applicants will be sent a few times by post card. The Central Government has reduced the limit of annual minimum deposit amount from Rs. 1,000 to Rs. 250 in Sukanya Prosperity Scheme. This decision of the government can increase the number of policy holders. The Saving Scheme was started by the Modi government in the name of Girl Child. Government has researched Sukanya Prosperity Account Rules, 2016. Accordingly, the policy can also be taken by depositing 250 rupees annually.
Let me tell you, the Finance Minister Arun Jaitley, presenting the budget for 2018-19, said that this scheme is one of the major successes of the Modi government. Jaitley said in the budget that till November 2017, 1.26 crore accounts were opened under the scheme and Rs 19,183 crore have been deposited in this scheme.
The interest rate for this scheme is 8.1% for the July-September quarter. According to the scheme, girl child can open an account of her name till her 10th year of age. An account can be opened in any post office branch and government bank under Sukanya Samrudhi Yojana.
